Sectors · Federal agencies

AI for federal departments and agencies.

Decision support, document intelligence and citizen services built to the Treasury Board’s rules for automated decisions, in both official languages.

The constraints

A federal system answers to Parliament. Every automated decision has to be explainable to the person it affects, defensible to an auditor and available in both official languages.

  • Automated decisions

Systems that make or support administrative decisions need an Algorithmic Impact Assessment and the safeguards its impact level sets.

  • Security categorisation

Most departmental data is Protected A or B, which governs where it is hosted and who may administer it.

  • Official languages

Services to the public, and many internal tools, must work equally well in English and French.

  • Procurement rules

Competitive processes, source lists and standing offers, each with its own evaluation and timeline.

What we build

Where AI earns its place. Tasks with a measurable cost today, where a person stays accountable for the outcome.

  • Correspondence and briefing notes

First drafts in the department’s format, from the file, for an officer to edit and approve.

  • Application triage

Sorting and summarising incoming files for a human decision-maker, with reasons recorded.

  • Policy and regulation search

Answers across acts, regulations and internal directives, citing the clause they rely on.

  • Access to information support

Locating responsive records and suggesting exemptions for an analyst to review.

Frameworks we design to

The rules your auditors use. Each one shapes the design from the first workshop, not a checklist at the end.
